Bio
Rachel Kantner (Rachel Majesty) is a multimedia artist—working primarily in painting—and an artist in residence at Urban Arts House. Her work spans two primary bodies: a series of dreamy, small-scale portraits of pets and people, and a collection of whimsical, folkloric paintings rooted in surrealism.
Whether capturing personal likenesses on wood panels or conjuring imaginative worlds, Rachel’s art balances precision with playfulness. Influenced by the haunting beauty of New England and the creative energy of Lancaster, her storytelling blends nostalgia, the supernatural, and a touch of humor.
Her work is often featured locally at Urban Arts House, Levengoods, and Third Story Gallery, and she also exhibits at Alchemy & Art in Amesbury, MA. Rachel is the President of the Lancaster PA Artist Society, a supporter of Humane Pennsylvania, Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, and Friends of Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem, MA. She often collaborates on creative projects with her partner, Damian Sorrow.
